GREENWOOD BASEBALL UNLOADS SEVEN RUNS IN FIRST ON WAY TO WIN OVER LOYAL

GREENWOOD, WI - The Greenwood Indians baseball team improved to 3-2 on the season, 3-1 in Cloverbelt East conference play, with a 8-2 win over the Loyal Greyhounds (2-4, 2-1).


Mason Learman pitched a complete game for Greenwood, striking out 12 Greyhounds while scattering four hits, and allowing just one walk. Xander Hinker and Learman each had two RBI to lead the Indians from the plate.


After Loyal plated one to begin the game on a E Lindner run batted in, it was Greenwood bringing in seven runs in the bottom of the first. Doubles by Fletcher Bredlau, Learman, G Ludovic, and Hinker helped bring 11 batters to the plate in the first and put Loyal away early.


K Pagenkof was the losing pitcher of record, allowing seven runs and walking one in one full inning of work.


Greenwood plays a home game against Alma Center Lincoln Monday at 5pm. Loyal hosts the first place Columbus Catholic Dons Tuesday at 4:30pm.
