EVEREST GIRLS PICK UP CONFERENCE WIN OVER WAUSAU EAST
SCHOFIELD - The D.C. Everest Evergreens girls basketball team has now won five of its past six games after a 56-51 home win over Wausau East on Saturday night.
Hanna Stuedemann (14), Braelyn Beiler (13), and Kiara Hammond (12) combined for 39 of the 56 Evergreens points. D.C. Everest got to the free throw line 27 times during the game, making 14. The Evergreens had to withstand the three-point shooting barrage from Abby Thompson and Madisyn Krueger. The pair hit seven from distance and combined for 28 points in the losing efford for East.
The win moves D.C. Everest to 5-4 in conference, good for third place behind Wisconsin Rapids (6-1) and Wausau West (6-0).
Next up for Everest is a home game against Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday with game time scheduled for 7:15pm.
