EIGHT-RUN SIXTH INNING PUSHES AUBURNDALE BASEBALL PAST ABBY/COLBY

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale baseball team plated eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and held off a seventh-inning rally to defeat Abbotsford/Colby 10-7 in a nonconference game Thursday at Auburndale High School.
The game was tied 2-2 before the Eagles exploded for the eight-run sixth.
Abby/Colby responded with five runs in the top of the seventh before Ian Brown was able to wiggle out of the jam.
Caden Weinfurter had three RBI and Kaden Anderson drove in a pair for Auburndale (3-3).
Carlos Lara had a double and two RBI for Abbotsford/Colby (5-4).
Both teams return to action Friday with nonconference games. Auburndale will host Chequamegon and Abbotsford/Colby will travel to Stratford.
