EDGAR BASEBALL BLASTS NEWMAN CATHOLIC
Zaleski Sports
WAUSAU – The Edgar baseball team scored two runs in each of the first four innings and went on to a 14-4 win over Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Brockmeyer Park.
Kyle Brewster rebounded from a four-run first inning to shut out the Cardinals over the next three and the Edgar bats did the rest.
Brayden Baumgartner and Ashton Schuett hit home runs, and Jordan Bunkelman, Drew Guden and Konnor Wolf each added two hits for the Wildcats, who put the game away with a six-run fifth inning to end the game due to the 10-run rule.
Edgar is now 11-2 overall and 6-1 in the Marawood South. Newman Catholic falls to 4-8 and 2-6 in conference play.
The two teams will meet again Thursday at Edgar.
