DAGIT, JENSEN EACH POST TWO WINS AS MARSHFIELD BOYS SWIMMING WINS AT SPASH

STEVENS POINT – Ethan Dagit and Myles Jensen each won a pair of events, and helped Marshfield win two relays as well, to help lift the Tigers to a 100-70 win over Stevens Point in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swim meet Tuesday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.


With the win, Marshfield improves to 5-2 in WVC duals this season and completes a season-sweep of SPASH.


Dagit won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.64 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 53.04 seconds, and Jensen took first in the 200 individual medley in 2:11.23 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.06 for the Tigers.


Jensen and Dagit teamed with Sander Marty and Kyle Berres to win the 200 medley realy in 1:49.00 and the 200 freestyle relay in 1:35.94.


Marshfield’s other victory came from Berres in the 100 backstroke (59.88 seconds).


Parker Soik won the 100 butterfly in 57.03 and Konnor Pilger won the 500 freestyle in 5:07.51 for Stevens Point’s two individual race victories.


Both teams will wrap up their WVC dual meet schedule on Thursday. Marshfield will host Wausau East and Stevens Point will be at home against Wisconsin Rapids.
