COLBY BOYS BASKETBALL BEATS LOYAL TO REMAIN UNBEATEN IN CLOVERBELT EAST

COLBY – The Colby boys basketball team moved into a tie for first place in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division with a 57-43 win over Loyal on Friday night at Colby High School.


Richard Streveler had 17 points and Brody Decker added 15 for Colby, which improves to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the Cloverbelt East, sliding into a tie with idle Neillsville for the conference lead. The two teams meet at Colby on Monday.


Colby led 33-19 at halftime and Loyal played even with the Hornets in the second half, but couldn’t make up any ground.


Deagen Sandelier had 11 points and Drew Stieglitz chipped in eight for Loyal, which falls to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Cloverbelt East.

Loyal plays a nonconference game at Almond-Bancroft on Monday.
