CASHIN, PACELLI FOOTBALL RUNS PAST ASSUMPTION IN DIVISION 7 PLAYOFF OPENER

STEVENS POINT – Brycen Cashin ran for 257 yards and five touchdowns and the Stevens Point Pacelli defense forced five fumbles as the third-seed Cardinals remained undefeated with a dominating 46-14 victory over sixth-seed Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in a WIAA Division 7 Level 1 football playoff game Friday at Goerke Field.


Cashin had touchdown runs of 30 and 4 yards, Brock Birrenkott added a 16-yard touchdown run, and quarterback Drew Kedrowicz scampered 60 yards for another score as the Cardinals (10-0) built a 26-0 lead by halftime.


Cashin put the game away in the third quarter with TD runs of 65, 27 and 35 yards as he broke the school record for rushing yards in a career.


Reed Duellman and Nick Leberg had touchdown runs late for Assumption, which finishes the season 6-5.
