AUBURNDALE NATIVE JORDAN ZIMMERMANN ANNOUNCES MLB RETIREMENT

SPORTSDESK - Auburndale, WI native, Jordan Zimmermann, announced his retirement from Major League Baseball on Tuesday. Zimmermann, who was last a member of the Milwaukee Brewers was the 11th Wisconsin born player in Brewers history to appear on a Milwaukee Brewers roster. Zimmermann was signed by the Brewers in February of 2021 and appeared in two games during the season.
Zimmerman was originally drafted by the Washington Nationals in the second round of the 2007 MLB draft. During his thirteen-year MLB career that also included five years with the Detroit Tigers, Zimmermann appeared in 282 games, starting in 275. In 1,614 innings pitched, Zimmermann struck out 1,271 batters. Zimmermann was an all-star twice during his career and pitched the first no-hitter in Washington Nationals history on September 28, 2014.
