PRENTICE – The Auburndale football team came into its game against Rib Lake/Prentice on Friday on a mission. Win and the Apaches were going to the playoffs.


Auburndale did that in resounding fashion, holding Rib Lake/Prentice to minus-7 yards and rolling to a 62-0 victory on Friday night at Prentice High School.


The Apaches (7-2, 3-2 Marawood Conference) cruised out to a 42-0 lead by halftime as their offense, defense and special teams all contributed touchdowns.


Dylan Paun had a 4-yard touchdown run and quarterback Cooper Weinfurter sprinted 22 yards for another score to put Auburndale up 14-0 midway through the first quarter.





Weinfurter returned a punt 42 yards for another score in the final minute of the first quarter to push the lead to 21-0.


Kyle Peterson had a 1-yard TD run and Weinfurter hit Hunter Wright for a 16-yard scoring strike to up Auburndale’s lead to 35-0.
