ATHENS BASEBALL WALLOPS PRENTICE

ATHENS - The Athens Bluejays baseball team completed a season sweep of the Prentice Buccaneers on Tuesday with a 10-0 five-inning win. In the season series the Bluejays outscored the Buccaneers by a 27-0 margin.


In Tuesday's game, Athens got two RBI each from Brooks Kraus, Kody Lepak, and Connor Sheahan. Kraus and Lepak each had three hits, accounting for six of the 11 hits on the day for Athens, which were all singles.


Kyler Ellenbecker notched the win for Athens, pitching all five innings, giving up just one hit, and securing all outs with 15 strikeouts.


Isaac Raab struck out five and allowed five earned runs pitching four complete innings for Prentice.


Athens will play at Rib Lake on Monday, April 18, and then return home on Tuesday, April 19, against Rib Lake. Both games start at 4:45 p.m.
