NEKOOSA – Wisconsin Rapids Assumption won two of the three doubles matches and defeated Marshfield Columbus Catholic 4-3 in a nonconference girls tennis match on the grass courts of Sand Valley Golf Club on Monday.


Assumption won a pair of three sets matches to preserve the victory as Annibelle Khang won 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 over Maggie Callaghan at No. 4 singles, and the Royals’ No. 2 doubles team of Kara Drewiske and Madelyn Stoffon won 4-6, 6-1, 12-10.


Madison Pecher at No. 2 singles, and the No. 3 doubles team of Sadie Donahue and Kloey Daliege earned straight-set victories for Assumption.


Maria Laura Garcia-Moya at No. 1 and Akosua Yeboah at No. 3 singles earned straight-set wins for Columbus Catholic.


The Dons’ other win came from the No. 1 doubles team of Maya Kuhn and Maria Elizabeth Garcia-Moya, who won 6-3, 6-4.
