WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls soccer team dominated in all aspects of the game and rolled to an 11-2 win over La Crosse Aquinas on Saturday at Washington Field.
The Royals outshot Aquinas 49-7, and after falling behind 1-0 early, scored six unanswered goals to take control.
Kendall Duellman had four goals, Sarah Shaw added three, and Addi Vollert and Clara Kubis each scored twice for the Royals, who are now 7-0.
“After we settled into the game a git, they took off the lid and we were able to attack the Aquinas defense on many fronts,” Assumption coach Jim Wendels said. “Our defense did a brilliant job of stopping the offensive threats from Aquinas and we did a really good job of stepping to the ball and taking shots away.”
Assumption plays at Melrose-Mindoro on Tuesday.
