ARCADIA – The Assumption girls soccer team finished off an undefeated regular season and claimed the Mid-Western Wisconsin Soccer Conference championship with a 10-0 rout of Arcadia/Independence on Thursday.
Kayla Kerkman and Clara Kubis each had hat tricks for the Royals, who enter the WIAA playoffs next week with a 9-0-2 record and finish the MWWSC with an 8-0 mark.
Sadie Donahue, Izzy Jungwirth, Kendall Duellman and Mally Stienke each added goals for Assumption.
Assumption did not allow a shot on goal in the win.
“We close out our regular season only allowing one goal all season,” Assumption coach Jim Wendels said. “This is a major achievement for the team and I’m so proud of their effort and commitment to our system of play, our energy and enthusiasm leading into the playoffs is off the chart, so I’m super-stoked to watch tese girls compete for a run at state.”
The WIAA playoff pairings will be finalized this weekend.
