WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls basketball team rolled to the championship at its home Cranberry Classic on Saturday afternoon, dominating Shawano 51-23.


The Royals cruised out to a 35-7 lead by halftime and were able to hold on from there.


Ten different Assumption players scored in the victory, with Kendall Duellman leading the way with 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range. Addi Vollert added seven points and three assists for the Royals (4-0).


Assumption hosts Wild Rose for a nonconference game Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
