STEVENS POINT – Marshfield had five top-seven finishes and placed eight at the Panther Indoor Girls Track Invitational on Friday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Aubri Brown took third in the shot put with a throw of 36 feet, and Ashley Grancorvitz was third in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 3½ inches to lead the Tigers.
The Marshfield 800-meter relay team of Grancorvitz, Ellie Jensen, Samantha Ridway and Dani Minsaas finished fourth in 1:55.44, Sophie Nikolay placed fifth in the pole vault (9-6), and Meghan Jaeger was seventh in the 1,600 meters in 5:55.45.
Bay Port won the team title with 80.5 points, with Kimberly second with 73. Amherst took ninth with 22.5 points, Stevens Point was 10th with 19, Rosholt was 11th with 13, Wild Rose and Mosinee tied for 19th with nine, and Auburndale was 23rd with 1 point.
Stevens Point’s Roisin Willis won the 60 meters in 8.06 seconds, with Mosinee’s Adalyn Lehman fifth in 8.21 seconds.
Willis, Kannitha Xiong, Anna Plautz and Taigan Anderson added a fourth-place finish in the 1,600 relay for Stevens Point, running in 4:28.05. The Amherst team of Leonie Chabbert, Lia Peterson, Saige Peterson and Estella Brown was fifth in 4:30.71.
Amherst’s top finishes came from the 3,200 relay team, which consisted of the same four girls that were in the 1,600, as they finished second in 10:34.22, and Lauren Bird also earned a runner-up finish in the shot put with a toss of 36-11.
The Falcons also got a fifth-place finish from Hannah Wall in the high jump (4-9).
Wild Rose’s Mya Bahr took fifth in the 800 meters (2:34.69) and in the 1,600 (5:47.84).
Rosholt’s Sophia Bablitch finished second in the 3,200 in 12:04.19 for the Hornets’ top finish.
