AMHERST BOYS BASKETBALL SLIPS PAST WEYAUWEGA-FREMONT IN OVERTIME

AMHERST – The Amherst boys basketball team charged back from a six-point halftime deficit to force overtime and went on to defeat Weyauwega-Fremont 52-50 in the Central Wisconsin Conference East Division and regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday at Amherst High School.


Weyauwega-Fremont (11-13, 4-8 CWC East) led 21-15 at halftime before the Falcons came back to force overtime and outscored the Warhawks 5-3 in the extra period to snag the win.


Wyatt Blaskowski scored 13 points and Spencer Cohen added 12 for Amherst.


Amherst will play a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal at Clintonville on Tuesday.
