WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids softball team busted open a scoreless game with a four-run fourth inning and went on to defeat Merrill 10-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Monday at Lincoln High School.

Rapids added two runs in the fifth and finished the game via the 10-run rule with a four-run sixth inning.

Megan Clary went 4-for-4 with two doubles, and Sawyer Holberg added two doubles and scored twice for the Raiders (13-3, 6-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Rhiannon Carroll earned the complete-game win for Wisconsin Rapids, striking out six. She also had two hits and an RBI in the victory.

Wisconsin Rapids will play at D.C. Everest, and Merrill (4-9, 2-8 WVC) will be at Wausau West on Tuesday.
