NEW LONDON - The SPASH Panthers softball team earned an 8-2 nonconference win at New London on Thursday night.
Kaitlyn Klismith led the way for the Panthers (19-5) with three runs batted in. Klismith had an RBI sac fly in the third inning, and batted in two with a fourth-inning base hit to centerfield. Delilah Abundiz pitched four innings, scattering four hits, and striking out two for Stevens Point.
Emma Reismann had a fifth-inning solo home run to highlight New London's (19-4) effort.
Stevens Point hosts Chippewa Falls for a nonconference doubleheader Friday, starting at 4 p.m. at Woyak Field in Plover.
The No. 3 seed Panthers will host No. 14 Eau Claire Memorial in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal Tuesday at 5 p.m.
