SCHULTZ TOSSES ONE-HITTER AS PLOVER LEGION BASEBALL WHIPS D.C. EVEREST

WESTON – Kenny Schultz tossed a complete-game one-hitter to lead the Plover Legion baseball team to a 10-0 shutout of D.C. Everest in Wisconsin Valley Legion League action Wednesday at Simon Field.


Schultz struck out 10 without a walk and the Black Sox offense did the rest, pounding out nine hits in the win.


Tommy Drohner went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Carl Biechler had a double and three RBI, and Brycen Cashin, Jon Nafe and Landon Moe all drove in runs for Plover (14-6, 5-2 WVLL).


Plover will compete at the New Ulm (Minn.) Tournament from Friday through Sunday. The Black Sox will take on Sleepy Eye (Minn.) at 1:30 p.m. and Willmar (N.D.) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and Omaha Gross (Neb.) at 10 a.m. Saturday.
