PLOVER LEGION SPLITS TWO GAMES TO ON SATURDAY WILL PLAY THIRD PLACE GAME SUNDAY

PLOVER – The Plover American Legion baseball team split a pair of games on Saturday to finish pool play of its three-day home tournament with a 3-1 record.
Plover saw its five-game winning streak snapped with a 7-1 loss to Superior, but rebounded to defeat Watertown 6-3.
Superior scored in five of the first six innings to take command as three pitchers combined to hold Plover to just six hits and one run, that coming on an RBI by Thomas Hunt in the bottom of the seventh.
Hunt and Jaworski had two hits each for the Black Sox in the loss.
Drew Kedrowicz threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts for Plover in the win over Watertown.
Austin Beyer had two RBIs and Tommy Drohner scored twice for the Black Sox (15-7).

Plover will take on D.C. Everest in a first-round game at the Class AAA Regional at Marshfield at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
