SHEBOYGAN – The Plover Black Sox American Legion baseball team wrapped up a terrific weekend at the Sheboygan Legion Tournament with a 3-2 win over the host team on Sunday.

The Black Sox, who went 4-1 in the three-day tournament, are now 9-6 this season and travel to Marshfield for a Wisconsin Valley Legion League game at 7 p.m. Monday. The game will be live at

Alec Smith allowed two runs in four innings to earn the win and Lucca Weinkauf threw three scoreless innings to grab the save for Plover.

The Black Sox were limited to five hits, but scored three runs in the second and third innings, which proved to be enough.

Jake Sankey had an RBI single in the second inning and Austin Beyer drove in two runs with a double in the third to provide Plover with their three runs.
