PITTSVILLE VOLLEYBALL STORMS BACK TO BEAT ALMOND-BANCROFT

PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville volleyball team evened its conference record with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Almond-Bancroft on Tuesday night at Pittsville High School.


Pittsville stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to win the match and improve to 2-2 in the Central Wisconsin Conference South Division. The Panthers won 22-25, 22-25, 257-25, 25-9, 15-11.


“We started so slow, just couldn’t do anything with the ball,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “Once we cleaned up our errors, things got way easier. Thursday we will have to be way better.”


Julia Redmond had 17 kills, Maddie Carpenter added eight kills and seven service aces, and Helen Durrant had 18 assists for the Panthers.


Bekah Downs had 21 digs, Josie Buchli had 19 digs, and Emily Carlson chipped in six assists in the win for Pittsville.


Pittsville is at Wild Rose on Thursday. Wild Rose is 3-0 and tied for first with Stevens Point Pacelli in the CWC South.
