PITTSVILLE VOLLEYBALL DROPS HOME MATCH TO WITTENBERG-BIRNAMWOOD

PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville volleyball team was swept by Wittenberg-Birnamwood in a nonconference match 3-0 on Thursday at Pittsville High School.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood won 25-15, 25-15, 25-12.

Julia Redmond had six kills, Bekah Downs added four kills and nine digs, and Melissa Giles had 12 digs for the Panthers (0-2).

Vanessa Pelot had eight assists and Angel Millard had six assists for Pittsville.

“Wittenberg-Birnamwood was an amazingly coached team – defensive and offensive they were on,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “We did a lot of good things, but they outmatched us in most aspects of the game.”

Pittsville will host Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Tuesday.
