PITTSVILLE RIVER BANDITS WIN FIRST GAME OF 2020
SPORTSDESK - The Pittsville River Bandits (1-1) nabbed their first win of 2020 with a 5-3 home victory over the Merrill Rangers.
Justin Rayburn and Sam Schwanabeck each went 2 for 3 in the win. Nathan Dupee joined the offensive production going 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI. Sawyer Ladick picked up the win for Pittsville going six innings, striking out nine, allowing just one hit, and zero earned runs.
Rayburn and Schwanabeck both scored for Pittsville in the bottom of the sixth inning after seeing Merrill plate one in the top of the fifth. The River Bandits scored two in the bottom of the seventh and once in the bottom of the eight to hold off a two run Merrill charge in the top of the ninth.
