PITTSVILLE BOYS BASKETBALL STARTS STRONG, GRABS ROAD WIN AT GREENWOOD

GREENWOOD – The Pittsville boys basketball team jumped on Greenwood early, cruising out to a big halftime lead, and defeated the Indians 56-41 in a nonconference game Monday at Greenwood High School.
Pittsville led 26-8 at halftime and were able to maintain its double-digit lead in the second half to improve to 2-7 this season.
Jordan Denniston had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Samuel Bowden had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Panthers.
Greenwood statistics were not reported.
Greenwood (3-9) will look for its first Cloverbelt Conference East Division win against winless Gilman on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
Pittsville hosts Port Edwards for a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division game on Friday.
