PACELLI BOYS, ROSHOLT GIRLS EARN INDIVIDUAL TOP-1O FINISHES AT ROSHOLT CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

ROSHOLT – The Hortonville boys and Freedom girls won team titles at the Rosholt “Trebs” Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Rosholt High School.
Behind race winner Aidan Paschke (16:20), Hortonville won the boys title with 66 points. Winneconne was second with 73, Stevens Point Pacelli third with 84, and Rosholt had an incomplete squad with four runners.
Adam Eiden finished second overall in the boys race in 16:43 to lead Pacelli. Teammate Gabe Hoerter added a ninth-place finish (17:37), Sam Carpenter was 13th (17:48), Ben Haemmerle 29th (18:23), and Nolan Wojchik 33rd (18:32) as well for the Cardinals.
Dan Simonis led Rosholt with a 19th-place finish in 17:57. Marcus Stalter was 52nd (19:20), Johnathon Rutta was 66th (20:33) and Nick Trzebiatowski took 80th (21:29) for the Hornets.
Freedom was first in the girls standings with 58 points, well ahead of second-place Ashwaubenon (114). Stevens Point, running with mostly junior varsity runners, was fourth with 119, and Rosholt took 12th with 292 points.
Sophie Yetter of Winneconne won the girls race in 19:06, just three seconds ahead of Freedom’s Claire Helmila.
Sophia Bablitch had a top-10 finish for Rosholt, taking sixth in 19:38. Mckenna Wierzba finished 71st (23:50), Jorja Zywicki 83rd (25:38), Erica Mansavage 84th (25:54) and Sydney Trzebiatowski 90th (27:52) for Rosholt.
Lilly Higgins was 12th (20:17) and Brittany Beadles 19th (20:36) for Stevens Point.
