NFL FREE AGENCY UPDATE
SPORTSDESK - We're just over 24 hours into the start of the 2020 NFL free agency period. The annual free agency period is a time when players are no longer under contract with a team and are freely able to sign with any time.
As of 4pm on Tuesday, March 17th, the Green Back Packers have signed two free agents. The Packers came to terms with linebacker Christian Kirksey, formerly with the Cleveland Browns, and offensive tackle Ricky Wagner formerly with the Detroit Lions. Kirksey reunites with Mike Pettine, the current Packers defensive coordinator, who was head coach with the Browns during Kirksey's first two years in the league. Wagner is a West Allis, WI native and former offensive lineman for the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Packers have also lost a trio of players during the first 24 hours of free agency. Offensive lineman, Brian Bulaga, tight end, Jimmy Graham, and linebacker Blake Martinez were some of the first to sign elsewhere (see below).
The biggest news of the day was quarterback Tom Brady announcing he would not return to the New England Patriots after 20 years, 17 divisional championships and six Super Bowl victories. Initial reports are that Brady will sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, although that is not official at the time of this report.
Below are the current free agency moves:
