NEILLSVILLE GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUTS COLBY, CLINCHES SHARE OF CLOVERBELT EAST TITLE

NEILLSVILLE – The Neillsville girls basketball team clinched at least a share of the Cloverbelt Conference East Division championship with a 76-23 rout of Colby on Tuesday night at Neillsville High School.


The Warriors rolled out to a 55-12 lead after a dominating first half and rolled the victory, improving to 19-2 overall and a perfect 14-0 in the Cloverbelt East.


Neillsvillle made 11 3-pointers, including four by leading scorer Delaney Rochester, who finished with 16 points. Amelia Trunkel added 14 and Paris Opelt 13 in the win.


Colby was held to seven made baskets in the game and falls to 6-13 overall and 5-9 in the Cloverbelt East.


Hayden Willner had seven points to lead the Hornets.


Both teams will host Cloverbelt East games on Friday as Neillsville takes on Granton and Colby plays Spencer.
