NEILLSVILLE BOYS BASKETBALL HOLDS DOWN LOYAL

NEILLSVILLE – The Neillsville boys basketball team clamped down on the defensive end, holding Loyal to 20 percent shooting and cruising to a 56-30 win in a battle of Cloverbelt Conference East Division unbeatens on Tuesday at Neillsville High School.


Andrew Brown made three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 24 points for the Warriors, who are now 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the Cloverbelt East.


Loyal made just 10 of 50 shots from the field and were 1-for-23 from 3-point range in the loss. The Greyhounds are now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the Cloverbelt East.


Deagan Sandelier had 11 points for Loyal.


Mason Roenz and Santana Subke each had eight points and eight rebounds for Neillsville.


Loyal plays at Colby on Friday. Neillsville is back in action Saturday afternoon at home against Arcadia.
