MOSINEE BOYS BASKETBALL KNOCKS OFF ANTIGO TO STAY UNDEFEATED IN GNC

MOSINEE – The Mosinee boys basketball team used a run late in the first half to pull away and went on to defeat Antigo 68-47 in a Great Northern Conference matchup on Friday night at Mosinee High School.


Drake Grod hit three 3-pointers and Kyle Miller added another as Mosinee closed the first half on a 17-6 run to take a 15-point lead into intermission at 35-20.


Mosinee limited Antigo to just five made field goals in the second half to pull away.


Davin Stoffel scored 19 points, Keagan Jirschele had 15, and Grod finished with 12 to lead the Indians, who improve to 14-1 overall and 6-0 in the GNC. Ten Mosinee players scored in the victory.


Ty Kohler scored 13 points for Antigo (2-13, 1-5 Great Northern Conference).


Mosinee will play the other undefeated team in the Great Northern Conference when it travels to Eagle River for a game against Northland Pines (9-2, 3-0 GNC) on Monday.
