ONALASKA – The Mosinee baseball team won its third-straight game as it slipped past Onalaska 5-4 in a nonconference game Tuesday at Legion Field.
Mosinee pulled ahead 4-0 as it scored twice in the first inning on a bases-loaded walk by Taylor Lemanski and a single by Trenton Dorn, and two more times in the third thanks to a passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Garrett Shupe.
Onalaska rallied to make it 4-3 before the Indians added a run in the sixth on a leadoff home run by Keagen Jirschele.
The run proved important as Onalaska (2-1) scored in the bottom of the sixth to make it 5-4, but the Indians were able to hold as Eli Miland didn’t allow a run in the final 1 1/3 innings to grab the save.
Trevor Garski picked up the win, allowing one run in three innings for Mosinee (4-1 overall).
Dorn and Jirschele each had two hits for the Indians.
Mosinee will play a Great Northern Conference doubleheader at home against Lakeland on Thursday starting at 4:30 p.m.
