MOSINEE BASEBALL BLANKS ABBY/COLBY IN DIVISION 2 REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL

MOSINEE – Matthew Dudei and Eli Miland combined on a seven-hit shutout as the Mosinee baseball team blanked Abbotsford/Colby 8-0 in a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal on Thursday.
The No. 3 seeded Indians (14-6) moves on to a regional semifinal at No. 2 Bloomer (21-2) on Tuesday. Abbotsford/Colby has its season come to an end with a share of the Marawood Conference North Division title and a 16-10 record.
Dudei pitched 6 1/3 innings, striking out 12, to earn the win for Mosinee. Miland got the final two outs to finish off the shutout.
Abbotsford/Colby managed seven hits, but couldn’t get a run across the plate as Dudei was able to wiggle out of trouble.
Tanner Uneitl and Tanner Miller each had two hits, and Brayden Hoen drove in a pair of runs for Mosinee.
Brandon Diedrich and Mateo Lopez both had two hits for the Falcons.
