ABBOTSFORD – The Edgar boys basketball team used a huge first half to roll past Abbotsford 79-31 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday at Abbotsford High School.


The Wildcats ran out to a 47-19 lead by halftime and outscored Abbotsford by 20 points in the second half to finish off the victory.


Everet Brehm scored 18 points, Brett Baumgartner added 15 and Leyton Schuett had 14 for Edgar, which improves to 8-6 overall and 5-4 in the Marawood South.


Adam Diedrich had eight points for the Falcons (3-12, 1-9 Marawood North).


Abbotsford plays a nonconference game at Owen-Withee on Monday and a Marawood Conference North game at Athens on Tuesday.


Edgar is at Marathon for a Marawood South game on Tuesday and home against Athens for a crossover game on Friday.
