COLUMBUS CATHOLIC VOLLEYBALL SUSPENDS ACTIVITIES UNTIL OCTOBER 7TH
SPORTSDESK - In a statement from Columbus Catholic Schools of Marshfield, WI, the school has temporarily ceased team volleyball activities. The pause in action goes until October 6th and the next volleyball to be played by the varsity team will be at home October 8th vs Spencer High School.
From Columbus Catholic: "Due to COVID-19 concerns, Columbus Catholic Schools has suspended its high school volleyball season for two weeks, beginning September 24. We will resume our season on October 7. Our mission is to provide high quality, faith based in-person education. We had to make this difficult decision to continue our mission."
From Athletic Director Joe Konieczny:"I am heart-broken for our players and coaches. They did everything we asked and then some, taking every possible precaution. Their preparation was relentless and they were poised to have a very successful season. I take solace in knowing how good Coach Egle and her staff are at using athletics to influence young people. I am certain they will find a way to use this setback to make our student-athletes better people. Our school is praying for all schools, teams, and people affected by this virus. May every high school athlete be back doing what they love as soon as possible."
Zaleski Sports will replace the three planned Columbus Catholic volleyball broadcasts during this timespan with other central Wisconsin matches.
