COLUMBUS CATHOLIC'S ECKELBERG WINS FOUR EVENTS AT WIAA STATE TRACK & FIELD MEET

LA CROSSE – Marshfield Columbus Catholic’s Noah Eckelberg won four gold medals in wheelchair events at the 2021 WIAA State Track & Field Championships on Friday at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Eckelberg won the 400 meters in 57.83 seconds, the 800 in 2:02.15, the 1,600 in 4:18.89, and the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, 10 inches.
Eckelberg repeated his gold medal performances in the 400, 800 and 1,600 from the 2019 state meet.
Marathon’s Drake Carlson also earned four state medals in the wheelchair competition. Carlson placed second in the 1,600 in 5:30.40, and finished fourth in the 100 (22.32), 400 (1:20.42) and the shot put (17-3¼).
