GREENWOOD – The Greenwood/Loyal softball team had its eight-game winning streak snapped as it dropped a nonconference doubleheader to undefeated Blair-Taylor 12-4 and 8-2 on Saturday at George Scherer Athletic Park.

The Greenhounds fall to 8-5 this season. Blair-Taylor remains perfect at 17-0.

Abby Thompson earned the win in the opener for the Wildcats, striking out nine.

Zaida Brock had two hits and an RBI for Greenwood/Loyal. Kaitlyn Lindner had a complete game loss, striking out four.

In Game 2, Blair-Taylor had just three hits but took advantage of four errors and nine walks to grab the sweep of the twinbill.

Emma Schlough struck out six and walked nine in the loss for the Greenhounds.

Kayla Bremmer had two of G/L’s four hits and drove in a run.

Grenwood/Loyal hosts Eau Claire Regis for a nonconference game on Monday.
