AWE'S HUGE DOUBLE-DOUBLE PUSHES PACELLI BOYS BASKETBALL PAST PITTSVILLE

STEVENS POINT – Jaydon Awe scored 23 points and hauled down 20 rebounds as the Stevens Point Pacelli boys basketball team defeated Pittsville 71-51 in a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division matchup Thursday night at Pacelli High School.
Logan Mayer added 13 points and made three of the team’s eight 3-pointers in the victory for the Cardinals, who are now 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the CWC South.
Pittsville led 31-30 at halftime before Pacelli pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Panthers by 21 points behind Awe’s huge double-double.
Pittsville falls to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Panthers’ statistics were not provided.
Both teams play nonconference games at home on Tuesday. Pittsville will host Northland Lutheran and Pacelli will be home against Shiocton.
