ATHENS VOLLEYBALL WINS DIVISION TITLE AT MERRILL INVITE

MERRILL – The Athens volleyball team won the Silver Division title at the Merrill Invitational on Saturday.
The Bluejays lost to Tomahawk 12-25, 25-20, 15-10, before coming back to defeat Rib Lake 25-22, 25-16; Marathon 25-22, 25-17; and Wittenberg-Birnamwood 15-25, 25-17, 15-10.
Addison Lavicka had 30 kills, 33 assists and 20 digs, Jazelle Hartwig added 27 kills, a team-high 39 assists, and 31 digs, and Celina Ellenbecker had 43 digs for Athens. Sophia Coker chipped in 20 kills in the four matches.
Athens plays a Marawood Conference North Division match at Rib Lake on Tuesday.
