WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls basketball team used a dominating second half to pull away for a 57-31 win over Stevens Point Pacelli in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon at Assumption High School.


Assumption led 27-18 at halftime before outscoring the Cardinals by 17 in the second half to earn the 26-point victory.


Addi Vollert scored 12 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for the Royals (16-3), who had nine different players score in the victory. Sarah Shaw added 11 points for Assumption.


Kaylin Yenter had 13 points and Casey Vaughan scored 11 for Pacelli (9-6).


Pacelli plays at Wild Rose in a battle of Central Wisconsin Conference South Division undefeated squads on Monday at 6:30 p.m., and Assumption in back in action with a Marawood Conference crossover game at home against Athens on Thursday. Both games will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
