ASSUMPTION GIRLS BASKETBALL PULLS PAST WILD ROSE FOR FIFTH-STRAIGHT WIN

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Assumption girls basketball team held Wild Rose to just nine second-half points and rolled to a 54-27 win in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Assumption High School.


Assumption led 24-18 after a tight first half before blowing it open, outscoring the Wildcats (2-1) 30-9 in the second half to improve to 5-0 this season.


Anna Schooley had 12 points and nine rebounds, and Kendall Duellman added 10 points for the Royals.


Both teams return to action Friday. Assumption hosts Phillips in a Marawood Conference crossover game and Wild Rose will be at home against Almond-Bancroft in its Central Wisconsin Conference South Division opener.
