AMHERST, PACELLI SOCCER TEAMS FINISH IN 3-3 TIE

AMHERST – Drew Lewellen had a hat trick, including the tying goal in the second half, to help push Amherst to a 3-3 tie with Stevens Point Pacelli in a Central Wisconsin Conference soccer game Thursday at Amherst High School.


Lewellen had two goals and Pacelli’s Jacob Hasler scored in the first half as the Falcons led 2-1 at the break.

The Cardinals pulled ahead in the second half on goals by Dakota Wrezenski and Max Grabiec, before Lewellen scored again and the game ended in a tie.

Grant Hinker had seven saves in goal for Pacelli (1-1-1 overall and Central Wisconsin Conference).


Amherst (1-2-1, 1-1-1 Central Wisconsin Conference) will play at the Wautoma Invitational and Pacelli will be at St. Mary Catholic on Saturday.
