AMHERST BASEBALL SHUTS OUT ST. MARY CATHOLIC TO WIN DIVISION 3 REGIONAL FINAL

AMHERST – Ben Lee continued his dominance on the mound for the Amherst baseball team as he had a complete game, two-hit shutout and the Falcons defeated Neenah St. Mary Catholic 4-0 in a WIAA Division 3 regional final on Wednesday.


Amherst (19-5) moves on to a D-3 sectional at Crandon on Tuesday where it will take on another No. 1 seed in Coleman (22-2) at 10 a.m. Chilton (20-4) will face Mishicot (8-12) in the other semifinal at 12:45 p.m., with the winners facing off for a sectional championship and a state tournament berth at 3:30 p.m.


Lee struck out 12 and did not walk a batter to lead the way for the Falcons.


Jake Hoffman had a single, a solo home run, and scored twice, and Landon Moe had a single, a triple and an RBI for Amherst.
